3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Do you love peanut butter cookies but don’t love the thought of baking your own?

Let me change your mind!

Even I, who doesn’t love baking, enjoy making these easy 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies.

They are my go to when I want to enjoy homemade cookies without a lot of mess.

My Story

My coworkers and I were chatting in the hall when our conversation turned to homemade cookies.

One coworker was lamenting the fact that although she loved homemade cookies, she didn’t like to take the time to make them.

Instead, to keep the process simple, she opted to purchase premade cookie dough.

Boy, did I have a solution for her!

For as long as I can remember, our family has made peanut butter cookies using this easiest ever peanut butter cookie recipe.

My mom taught us, and we, in turn, taught our kids.

Even my sister, who is a high-level foodie, prefers and uses this recipe when making homemade peanut butter cookies.

Let’s Make Cookies!

You will need:

1 Egg

1 Cup of Sugar

1 Cup of Peanut Butter

Chances are, from this day forward you will automatically remember the needed ingredients.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Add all three ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well.

Form the dough into balls.  You will have approximately two dozen.

Place the cookie balls on a nonstick cookie sheet approximately one inch apart.

Using a fork, make the traditional crisscross pattern on the top of the cookie.

Bake for 8 to 8 ½ minutes.

Remove from the oven, let them sit for a couple of minutes and move them to a wire rack to cook.

Enjoy!

Pro Tips from my sister

My sister, who makes these a lot more often than I do, was kind enough to pass on some pro tips for me to include (I promised her the credit, lol)

Most people will tell you to bake these cookies for 10 minutes.  That is too long.  They will dry out around the edges and lose their chewiness.

A cookie should be light brown on the bottom when it’s done, no matter what it looks like on top.

To check the bottom of a cookie, put an oven mitt on one hand and, using a spatula, scoop a cookie off the cookie sheet with your other hand.  Gently flip it over onto your gloved hand.  Look quickly at the bottom then flip it back onto the cookie sheet right side up.

These cookies are a great introduction to baking for kids.
