PAPER FILTERS FOR THE REFILLABLE K-CUP! DID YOU KNOW?

One of my earliest memories is begging my Nanny to let me drink coffee.

She wouldn’t allow me to drink it.

So, I ate the grounds! (Not kidding!)

(For the record, my daughter won’t let me give my five year old grandson coffee either.  Even though he loves it as much as I do!)

From very early on, I have been a coffee drinker.

Love the stuff.

But, as with all good things, there is a point where a good thing can be overdone.

Twice I have reached that point.  One would have thought I would have learned my lesson on the first go round. (Pounding chest, hospitals, etc.)

Over a year ago I reached the caffeine saturation point.  And for six weeks I quit drinking coffee, cold turkey.

But like a good friend, I missed the stuff.

What I needed was a way to automatically curb my consumption.  Because as long as there was a pot of coffee…that is what I would drink.

Our daughter, who was staying with us at the time, had a Keurig.

Because it only brews one cup at a time, the Keurig seemed like an excellent solution.

However, I resisted using it due to the expense of purchasing the pre-filled K-Cups.

Even though I had purchased a refillable K-Cup, there was often sediment in my coffee and the mess of cleaning out the filter was a hassle.

When our daughter left, the Keurig stayed behind.  It remained in her room for a long, long time.

When I would venture in to her room, I would think to myself, “I would use that thing if they made a paper filter for it.”

As luck would have it, someone quicker and brighter must have thought the same thing.  Because, one day while wandering the aisle at Wal-Mart, there they were.  Paper filters for the refillable K-Cup!

I snatched them up and took them home.  where I have been using them ever since.

When I find a product I love, one that makes my life easier and can save money too, I find myself sharing with friends and family.

That is why I am sharing this story about this particular product with you.

If you are a one cup coffee drinker, check out this filter here ~  Paper Filter  (affiliate link)

And an extra little:  did you know that turning coffee filters upside down and taking the one on the bottom makes them so much easier to separate?  Who knew?

Give it a try!

And one more extra little:  For those who start getting ready for Christmas early (or all year), this would be a great stocking stuffer!

Enjoy!

  1. Wow, what a fun bit of information. I’m a one cup drinker. Intrigued with the Keurig concept but felt it was a bit of an expense that I could pass on. You’ve educated me on my future options. I’m waiting for my 15 year old Mr. Coffee pot to break to justify an upgrade, which I look forward to. In the meantime I will definitely turn my filters upside down!! I have had my share of frustrating mornings working on separating the one filter I need. They are often candid camera moments. I’ve wondered if anyone was watching me and laughing as I struggle. Opening the produce plastic bags gives me the same sense of dread (until I discovered that a bit of water works wonders). argh….

    1. I have to know how you use water on the plastic produce bags!
Glad to help with the filter situation.
It was an accident that I figured it out!

  2. I love the K cup filter!!! I’m hoping it will save me money…I do love my coffee!!❤️
