What is the best alternative to those pesky plastic shopping bags?
In my opinion, there is no better alternative to plastic shopping bags than the reusable, collapsible shopping boxes found on Amazon.

My Story
I am always on the lookout for little ways in which I can do my part to lessen the amount of plastic going into the landfill.
Five years ago, in my quest to reduce the number of plastic shopping bags I hauled home, I purchased my first set of collapsible shopping boxes.
Since then, I have purchased two additional sets for myself, sets for my daughters, daughter-in-law, and coworkers.
I like them that much.
Not only have I drastically reduced the number of plastic shopping bags I haul home, but if you go through self-checkout, they are a game changer.
Almost every single time that I am checking out, someone asks me where I got them from.
There are several features of these boxes that make them the better choice to replace plastic shopping bags.
They act like a box, not a bag.
Meaning, they don’t collapse, fall over, or require me to hold them open as I add groceries.
When checking out, I open them up, set them on the counter, and add my groceries as I scan them.
They hold A LOT.
Because they act like a box, I fill them like a box.
For a normal shopping trip, three to four boxes holds everything I buy.
Because everything is condensed into three to four boxes, there are fewer trips required to get the groceries from the car to the house.
No more piles of plastic in the middle of the kitchen floor when I return from the grocery store.
You can use these for so much more than grocery shopping.
Going to a church potluck? They are ideal for transporting your contribution.
Piles of Christmas gifts to transport? I’ve used them to do this as well.
These boxes are durable.
I am still using the set I purchased in 2019. I have simply added an additional set as well.
