The Mop that Checks all the Boxes

A pile of boxes with check marks on them

Have you struggled with finding the right mop with which to mop your floors?

While there are more choices for mops than I care to count, for me, the mop that checks all my boxes is an O Cedar Spin Mop.

My Story

My hunt for the perfect mop is legendary.

For decades, I spent hours every weekend down on my hands and knees scrubbing floors.

While it was a ridiculous waste of time, I loved how clean our floors were after the scrubbing was done.

Circumstances changed and my cleaning routine needed to be more convenient.

However, I still wanted the same level of clean.

And the quest was on.

It became almost a family joke.  What kind of mop would I try next?

One night I even coerced Brian into picking up what I thought was going to be a magic mop on his way home from work.

It wasn’t magic, not even close.

My final, never to be revisited, mop of choice, is an O-Cedar Spin Mop.

The O-Cedar Spin mops checks all my boxes when it comes to what I’m looking for in a mop.

What checks all the boxes when it comes to choosing a mop?

It has to clean really, really good, almost as good as hand mopping.

Since the “strings” are microfiber, they are great for tackling just about any kind of mess.

The triangular shape allows easy access to corners and nooks and crannies.

Check.

Minimally wet floor after mopping.

The O-Cedar Spin Mop wrings out so well that the floor is minimally wet after mopping, resulting in a quick drying floor, and no streaking.

Check number two.

No hand wringing.

I do not want to plunge my hands in dirty water to wring out a dirty mop.

The spin bucket does the wringing out for you.

Another check.

The mop head has to be easy to clean.

Pop off the mop head and throw it in the wash.

Replace as needed.

Fourth check.

Easy to use.

Using the mop takes no real muscle power.

The power is in the microfiber strings.

It took at least forty-five minutes to scrub my dining room and kitchen on my hands and knees.

Using the spin mop, it takes me about fifteen minutes and my body doesn’t hurt when I finish.

Another definite check.

The only downside to the system is the one that kept me from initially making the purchase.

Mopping requires a special bucket.

If the bucket breaks, the mop is basically useless.

Mine has lasted so long that it’s worth the gamble.

Also there is a year guarantee, so it’s a pretty small investment for a year’s worth of mopping.

The RinseClean Spin Mop and Bucket System wasn’t an option when I purchased mine.

However, if you’re going to buy a spin mop, spring for that one.

You will only be using clean water, not dirty, to clean your floors.

That’s a big check.

Make sure you check out the O Cedar Spin Mop and see if it doesn’t check all your boxes as well.
